The Newborn Inserts have 2 layers of microfiber terry that are really absorbent. The smooth side that goes against your baby's delicate skin is a stay dry suede cloth that wicks the moisture away to keep your baby feeling dry. These can also be used as a doubler for extra absorbency.

Fabric Content: Stay Dry Layer - 100% polyester, Absorbent Layer 80% & 20% nylon

Care Instructions: Wash hot, tumble dry. Do not use laundry additives or softeners.

Flip Newborn Stay Dry Inserts can be used with Flip Covers, bumGenius, and Econobum.

These are exactly what I need for our newborn. The inserts work well with Thirsties (XS size) and Bummis Super Whisper (NB size) covers. The stay-dry side does its job well and baby hardly fusses when he soils himself. If we weren't so obsessive about checking his diaper, we'd probably never know he needs changing. I plan to continue to use them later as a doubler as baby grows.

Cute but not absorbent

These are so cute and trim but they were not absorbent on their own. I think they would make great doublers inside prefolds for nights and naps on newborns but stand alone they did not work for us. They were very trim. I think cotton prefolds were way more absorbent.
