With the long term cost of disposable diapers, I made a plunge into territory I always swore I'd never set foot in: Cloth Diapering!
I had some friends who were wonderful enough to let me pick their brains on the subject, but beyond that it was still hard with so many options and variations out there, to figure out what to do! (Think about the money I would be out with making the wrong choice!) I loved Nicki's returns, 15-day trial, and store credit policies. It made me SO much more comfortable when it came time to make a purchase!
I got Nicki's Ultimate AIOs for my little girl, as she has a TON of Aunts, and Uncles (as well as her daddy) who are more than happy to do diaper changes, and I wanted to the transition to be as simple as possible.
I prepped my diapers (my purchase qualified for all sorts of free gifts, which was so much fun! My free diaper was actually one of their Bamboo AIOs that I haven't gotten to try yet), and started diapering her in cloth exclusively yesterday.
I was nervous about overnights, because I've read from a lot of cloth diapering moms that they wouldn't trust an AIO overnight.
I was terrified of a big mess in the morning!
I put the little lady down to sleep around 9pm or so (she has been getting up to eat mid-night due to a growth spurt) so I figured I would change her halfway.
She didn't wake up for that feeding, so when I woke up to her in the morning after 6am, I had a moment of panic! (Followed by 'Wow, I actually feel rested!)
Lo and Behold she was TOTALLY DRY. No dampness, whicking, or leaks of ANY kind!
I did my research to try and find the best quality and price option for our household, and was confident I had picked something good, but I am baffled by the excellent quality we were able to afford by choosing Nicki's!
There has been some negativity in regards to reviews policies on their website, but to me that's neither here nor there. What matters is the quality of the PRODUCTS, and they deliver on every front!
For comparison, my daughter is 3 months old, and at her last doctor visit 2 weeks ago, she was just over 12 lbs. Normally on a long overnight like she did in her cloth diaper, a disposable would be positively ballooned/ready to burst and leaving that 'damp' feeling on her clothes.
I am officially converted, and a Nicki's shopper for life!
