Knickernappie's Ovulation Tests help you find out when it is the right time to attempt to conceive a child. A prime indicator that you are ovulating is a LH or luteinizing hormone surge and the Ovulation Test predicts when this is happening. This is an inexpensive way to monitor fertility and can be used by anyone in the privacy of their own home.
How it works:
A sudden surge in the level of LH causes ovulation. LH is always present in the body but a smaller amount than is seen just before ovulation. Around the middle of the menstrual cycle, the pituitary gland releases more LH than any other time of the cycle. The LH surge can last from 1-3 days. Most women will ovulate 12-48 hours after the LH surge is detected - most common is 36 hours after the actual surge. The surge in LH can usually be detected in the urine 8-12 hours after it occurs in the blood.
Do not use first morning urine as LH is synthesized in your body early in the morning. It will not show up in your urine late in the day so the best time is between 10 am - 8 pm. It is best to test at about the same time each day. Reduce liquid intake about 2 hours before testing because diluted urine can prevent the test from detecting LH surge.
You may choose to use the Midstream Ovulation Test or Ovulation Test Strips.
