My husband and I debated and researched carriers for almost 2 weeks before settling on the Ergo Performance. We love this carrier so much, we purchased a second for our son due in September. Hiking is so easy with this carrier and we can easily go for several hours with no problems. Both my husband and daughter are heavy sweaters, and this carrier is breathable and lightweight.

My Husband Loves This
The Ergo carriers are super. I really love the performance carrier, it's pretty cool with the fabric that's used and its masculine enough that my husband will also use it. ( He refuses to use our Moby wrap) I also think it will be more comfortable the the wrap once DS gets bigger.

Works great for going outdoors!
We have had our carrier for a month but are enjoying it. I have used it many times hiking in the woods, x-country skiing, shopping, and more. My 3 mo old likes it as well. Since it is winter I just put an XL jacket on so I can zip it up with her in it and she stays toasty warm and we are able to get out and do the activities we enjoy.
I gave it 4 stars because the baby can’t face outward, only towards you which can be frustrating for baby.

Love this item!
I have used my Ergo since my baby was about 3 mo old (she is currently 11 mo and 24 lbs). I have used it in front, hip and back carry. It has come in handy: grocery shopping one-on-one before she could sit in cart, long walks with the infant insert as early as 4 mo, great for vacations where public transportation are necessary (on a 4 day trip to San Francisco in August I wore her every day, climbing all up and down the hills, just her and I). I just bought a second one for my best friend!

My husband is the one that primarily uses this for our little one. I'm more of a wrap kind of girl. At any rate, we've been able to be a much more mobile family again after purchasing this. My husband carries the baby around while I take a few supplies and we've been able to manage quite a few hikes that way. Plus, our baby loves being held close, so this works wonderfully for walks around the neighborhood as well.
