These definitely keep the smell down and smell pretty strongly of oranges, but there is no way to attach them (putting them inside the lid is the most effective). They are oily so tape was ineffective for me. I had to attach a wire cage (made it out of some extra wires I had in the garage) to slip the disk into. If it had a device to hold it in, it would be 5 stars.

Deo Disks
These work great and keep my pail smelling fresh instead of poopy. They are a good price and last quite a while.

Great smell, lacks in functionality
Unlike the other reviewer I dont think the smell is too strong. It works but attaching them to the can is not easy. It's just a disk, which I suppose you could put in the bottom of the can but for me, I couldn't smell it any longer so I just taped it to the top of the can and it works great, but would have appreciated a small hook or something to attach it to the can more effectively.
