The BabyKicks hemp inserts were my first time trying hemp, and I have to admit that I wasn't altogether that impressed with them. They didn't *seem* (there was nothing scientific about my observations of course) to hold substantially more than a regular cotton prefold. But! Like I said, I had never used hemp before, so I was kind of expecting it to hold GALLONS of pee without feeling even damp on the top layer :-)
However, these would make an excellent replacement for a pocket microfiber insert since they are so trim and hold at least as much if not more than a MF insert.
So! In sum: if you like hemp or use pockets, these would be a great purchase. I didn't care for them because I had probably unreasonably high absorbency expectations for hemp and because we don't use pockets much (more of a fitted fan).

The Babykicks Joeybunz OS soaker is a super trim, super absorbent hemp soaker. I like hemp because it holds a lot of wetness, and is a natural fiber. I find that natural fibers hold on to stink less and are easier to clean. The soaker fits well in the pocket diapers Iíve tried it in (FuzziBunz and SoftBums). It also works great as a doubler in any cloth diaper, right next to babyís skin.

The thinnest, most absorbent insert!
I have been using Joey Bunz since I started cloth diapering my oldest child 13 years ago, and they are still my "go to" insert after all these years with my 6th baby. (I haven't been able to use the same ones this whole time because after a few babies they do wear out, but I haven't hesitated to buy more to replace them!) They are so absorbent and TrIM! I use them in pocket diapers and lay in a cover to add absorbency to a fitted diaper at night.

My LO is a super soaker. We use these as an additional absorbency in our pocket diapers. Works great! Very absorbent. Great addition to any stash!

A must have for over night diapering!
These inserts have been our go-to night time solution for over 2 years for my son. When paired with a flat or prefold they give the perfect night-time absorbancy without being too bulky. After 2 years they are looking pretty worn out (wear holes around the serging) so I wouldn't expect them to last through multiple kids unless you have a lot of them in rotation (we have 6 in our stash)
